1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Backt ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Nature of the Platform

Backt is not a gambling platform. No real money is wagered, deposited, or paid out through Backt. All portfolio values, profit/loss figures, and performance metrics are simulated and hypothetical. The Platform tracks sports picks with verified timestamps for transparency and accountability purposes only.

3. No Financial or Gambling Advice

Nothing on Backt constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or gambling advice. Picks posted by models are informational and for entertainment purposes only. You should not rely on any information on this Platform to make real wagering decisions.

4. Simulated Performance

All Return, ROI, unit totals, and portfolio values shown on Backt are simulated. They represent what hypothetical results would have been based on picks posted and graded on the Platform. Past simulated performance does not guarantee future results.

5. User Generated Content

Picks, bios, display names, and other content posted by users ("Models" and "Investors") are user generated. Backt does not endorse, verify the accuracy of, or assume responsibility for any user generated content beyond timestamping and grading picks against official results.

6. Pick Verification Guarantee

All picks are server locked with a UTC timestamp before game start. Picks cannot be edited, backdated, or deleted after submission. Cancelled (voided) picks remain visible in the model's record for full transparency. This immutable record is the foundation of the Platform's integrity.

7. Account Conduct

You agree not to: create multiple accounts, manipulate your record through excessive voiding, impersonate other users, or use the Platform for any unlawful purpose. Violations may result in account suspension or deletion.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Account settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Backt:

Account information: email address, display name, avatar initials, and role (investor or model)
Pick data: all picks you post, including game, side, odds, units, and timestamps
Profile data: bio, social links, style preferences, and sport categories
Usage data: pages viewed, features used, and profile views (aggregated)

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

Operate and improve the Platform
Calculate and display performance metrics (win rate, ROI, units, streaks)
Power leaderboards, discovery, and model profiles
Send notifications about pick results and follower activity (based on your preferences)
Analyze platform usage to improve the user experience

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Your pick history and performance data are displayed publicly on your model profile as part of the Platform's transparency features. We may share aggregated, anonymized data for analytics purposes.

4. Data Processor

Backt uses Supabase as its database and authentication provider. Your data is stored securely in Supabase's infrastructure. Supabase acts as a data processor on our behalf and is subject to their own privacy and security policies.

5. Data Retention

Your account data and pick history are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information is removed. However, anonymized pick data may be retained for platform integrity purposes.

6. Your Rights

You can view and edit your profile information at any time, export your pick history, delete your account and associated personal data, and opt out of nonessential notifications.

All performance data, profit/loss figures, unit totals, ROI percentages, and portfolio values displayed on Backt are entirely simulated and hypothetical. They do not represent actual trading, gambling, or financial results. No real money is involved in any transaction on this Platform.

Past Results

Past simulated performance does not guarantee future results. A model's historical record, no matter how strong, is not indicative of future pick accuracy. Sports outcomes are inherently unpredictable, and no model or system can guarantee winning picks.

No Sportsbook Affiliation

Backt is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any sportsbook, casino, or gambling operator. The Platform does not facilitate, encourage, or enable real money wagering. Odds displayed on the Platform are for informational and simulation purposes only.

All picks, analysis, and content on Backt are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. Nothing on this Platform should be construed as professional advice of any kind. Users are solely responsible for their own decisions, including any real money wagering decisions made outside of this Platform.

Assumption of Risk

By using Backt, you acknowledge that you understand the simulated nature of all data on the Platform and that you will not hold Backt, its operators, or its model contributors liable for any losses resulting from decisions made based on information found on this Platform.

Model Rules of Conduct

Backt is a verification platform. Our entire value comes from the integrity of the leaderboard. The rules below exist to protect that integrity. They apply to every model account on Backt.

1. No fake or backdated picks

Every pick must be locked server side at submission. Attempting to game the timestamp, edit a pick after lock, or post a result as a "pick" after the game has started results in a permanent ban with no appeal.

2. No multiple accounts

One model = one account. Creating alt accounts to inflate the leaderboard, evade a ban, or game any platform feature is a permanent ban on all related accounts.

3. No threats, harassment, or doxxing

Threatening, harassing, or attempting to identify other models, investors, or Backt staff results in a permanent ban. Zero tolerance.

4. No outside tout funnels

You can post picks on Backt. You cannot use Backt as a funnel for outside paid tout services, scammy Discord groups, or pyramid schemes. We can tell the difference.

5. No insider info, match fixing, or coordinated manipulation

Picks based on non public information, attempts at match fixing, or coordinated manipulation of any market are an instant permanent ban and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Soft rules: warning, then suspension, then ban

6. Post your real opinion

Post picks you actually believe in. Patterns of intentional losses, random noise, or contrarian for the sake of stats picks are a violation. Backt's whole pitch is verified edge. We protect that aggressively.

7. No spam

Don't post the same pick multiple times. Don't flood the leaderboard with dozens of low conviction picks per day. Quality over quantity.

8. Respect investor privacy

Don't DM investors with outside offers, promotions, or solicitations. All model and investor interaction stays on the platform.

9. No misleading bios or claims

Don't claim credentials, records, affiliations, or partnerships you don't have. Your verified Backt record is the only record you can claim.

Operational

10. Backt's grading is final

We grade against official sources (ESPN, league box scores). Disputes go through support. We don't relitigate official results.

11. Removal at our discretion

Backt can remove or hide a model at our discretion if their behavior threatens platform integrity. We give reasons when possible but reserve the right not to.

12. Inactive accounts

Models with no picks for 90+ days may be archived from the public leaderboard. Records are preserved and can be reactivated by posting again.

By posting picks on Backt, you agree to these rules. They may be updated as the platform grows. Material changes will be announced to all models in advance.
